a) What you get from the smoke
When a cigarette is lit up, it produces 800mg of smoke which could be divided as main stream smoke and side stream smoke. The smoke blowing out from the mouth of the smoker is called main stream smoke. After the cigarette is lit but no one draws the smoke into the lungs, then the vapor coming out from the cigarette is called the side stream smoke.

After burning, the cigarette could produce more than 4,000 chemical materials, including nicotine, tar, carbon dioxide and other chemicals, among them 43 have been confirmed by scientific studies as cancer-causing.

b) What can happen
According to the World Health Organization, 30% of the causes of death are related to smoking:



1) Smoking could cause various kinds of diseases, including lung cancer, mouth cancer, nose cancer, throat cancer, etc.

2) Smoking could cause cardiac disease and stroke.

3) Smoking could cause pneumonitis and bronchitis.

4) Smoking could weaken potency.

5) Smoking could cause premature birth or miscarriage.

6) Smoking could cause osteoporosis and advance the arrival of menopause.

7) Smoking could smear the teeth and fingernails and cause bad breath.
